501 Syntax error in PORT command. (6 posts)

    I'm with freeservers and whenever i do just about anything, like uploading files and refreshing the window, this error pop's up more often than not

    what do i do???

    Have you tried checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Preferences?

    I get a similar error.

    server response: illegal PORT command

    Passive mode is NOT checked. I don't know what to do... I can use fetch at all...

    I would try checking "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" in Fetch Preferences -- does that help?
