    When I try to upload a file to my internal server, I get the following message:

    227 Entering Passive Mode (65,163,0,10,13,174).
    STOR pp.pdf
    550 pp.pdf: Access is denied.
    ftp_store_setup: -30000 (state == RPUT_SETTING_UP)
    ABOR
    225 ABOR command successful.

    The IT department says that permissions are set up correctly, and my user name and password are correct becauseI can log on. What's up?

    The server is saying that you don't have permission to upload that file. Is there already a file by that name? If there is, and you do not have write permission to it, that would explain the error.

    You might try uploading a file with a different name. If you got the same error it would suggest that you don't have permission to store any files in that directory.

    Thanks,

    I did change the file name. Apparently, I cannot upload any file that I have tried by any name.

    Also, I find that logging in using the same password and user name on a PC allows me to upload those files. The problem seems to be MAC specific.

    I can't argue with your experience, but there's no technical way for the server to know whether it's talking to a Mac or a PC, so I'd guess that there's some other difference at work.

    I have the same problem, that I can't upload files from my Mac, but I can upload the same file to the same ftp site with the same password, using a PC.

    Here is the Fetch transcript.

    You say the server doesn't know whether it's talking to a Mac or PC, but don't offer any other suggestion. What could the issue be? Using the PC, I don't use Fetch, I just access their ftp site via Explorer and everything works fine.

    It could be that the server blocks uploads from some IP addresses, with the result that it blocks uploads from your Mac and not from your PC.

    Can you upload using any other Mac FTP client?
