just upgraded from 3.0.3 to 4.0 and used the automatic detection of up - and downloading files.

Several times the detection loaded bin files as text and text files in bin mode. Is there a special preference to set in 4.0?

With 3.0.3 the auto detect was always working super!?

The usual solution is to add suffix mappings for the files that are not being transferred correctly. Suffixes are the primary way that Fetch makes those "automatic" decisions.

    Thanks,

Jim, are you suggesting not to use InternetConfig?

    I'm having the same problem.
In InternetConfig I've set .php,.html,.cgi etc to be text files. Fetch 3.0 handles them as text but Fetch 4.0 sometimes handles them as binaries.

I'm using fetch now for one week and did not change my internetconfig. With 3.0.3 the automatic up- download detection worked great. Now I have to switch everytime manually.
Often when I choose automatic fetch 4 remembers the last modus and takes this again no matter if it's .bin or .txt

It might help to uncheck the "Automatic defaults to Text" box in the Download section of Preferences.
