bad icons for Microsoft Office docs (3 posts)

Since updating to 5.0.4, I'm getting blank (generic white) icons for both .xls files as well as .doc files. This seems pretty absurd, since these are widely recognizable file formats, and indeed when I click get info in Fetch, under transfer options it shows the proper application (in Office 2004) for each file type. I don't remember this problem occurring in the previous version of Fetch 5. The only thing I can think of that might be causing it is the fact that I now have Office X installed in addition to Office 2004 (which is necessary for me since certain fonts no longer function in Office 2004). What's going on? I don't want to have to go back to using Fugu (where the problem doesn't occur), but that's what I'm forced to do at the moment.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. We are investigating.

Do you see blank icons both in the Fetch transfer window, and after you've downloaded the files?

And even if the files have blank icons after downloading, do they open in Excel or Word when you double-click on them?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

We will work on fixing this for the next release of Fetch. In the meantime, even though the files do not have the correct icon after downloading, they should open in the correct application when you double-click on them.

In the meantime, you can revert to Fetch 5.0.2 if you want (instead of using Fugu). You can download it from:

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience,
