I had to reinstall OS X(10.1). When I copied the Fetch folder from a backup disk to the OSX Applications folder, I could no longer use BBEDIT for editing files from the ftp server. I reinstalled FETCH, removed the LS* and .LS* files from my User/Library/Preferences, etc.

Still No go. What am I missing?

    Sorry about that double post.

Anyway, forgot to mention. I did do one other thing after I reinstalled OSX and Fetch. I updated BBEDIT to 6.5.2. (?) Shouldn't make a difference, but, then, "never" assume.

A number of users have reported problems with Fetch not finding BBEdit or GraphicConverter on Mac OS X. So far a workaround has not been found, and my best guess is that there's a bug in Fetch. I will try to fix this problem for the next release.

    Thanks,

This "did" work when originally installed. And it worked after updating the system through 10.1.2. It was only only reinstalling OS 10 and that the feature "went away." The ability to edit files in BBEDIT without re-uploading (and mirroring, which still works) were the two reasons for acquiring the program.

How do you do a squeaky-clean uninstall? Is there a list of all prefs files and other files, like the LS* files mentioned elsewhere, that might affect behavior? If it worked once, it should work again, after a "clean" install ... no?

Fetch puts three files in the Library/Preferences folder in your home directory: Fetch Prefs, Fetch Cache, and Fetch Shortcuts. The LS* files are maintained by the system.
