I am trying to connect to my dotmac account. I used "www.mac.com" as the host name (not sure if this is correct?) and my other information is correct, I believe.

It will not connect. I am 100% sure it is new user error.

I have read the Fetch help and the pdf. I have searched the globe for a "how to connect to dotmac with Fetch" tutorial.

I found this forum. Thank goodness.

Is there a step-by-step on how to connect to dotmac for a very thick newbie?

    Hi,

We're sorry, but Fetch does not support connecting to .Mac accounts.

Fetch only support making connects to servers that support FTP or SFTP connections. .Mac uses a different protocol called WebDAV.

One way to connect to your .Mac account is to use the iDisk feature in the Macintosh Finder.

Sorry not to have a better answer for you.

    Thanks,

Bummer. I did not know that. I did not even know what WebDav meant.

Thanks for giving me the answer.
