Having upgraded to Fetch 5, I get the message "The action could not be completed because the hostname is invalid" and it is impossible to get out of this loop: each time you press "OK" it keeps popping up, disabling all other commands.

Using 10.3.9 on G4 Cube with 768 Mo RAM.

I'm getting the same thing with the new 5.0.

Says the Host name is invalid as it conntains illegal characters - it does NOT.

    Running Tiger 10.4.1

I'd like to get to the bottom of these problems. Could you send your system.log and Fetch Prefs files to bugs at fetchsoftworks.com? To find the system.log file, choose "Go to Folder..." from the Go menu in the Finder and type "/var/log" (without the quotes).

To find the Fetch Prefs file, choose "Home" from the "Go" menu in the Finder, open the Library folder, then open the Preferences folder.

    Thanks!

    johnnyh,

Please try deleting your current "Fetch Prefs" file and see if that fixes the problem.

To find the Fetch Prefs file, choose "Home" from the "Go" menu in the Finder, open the Library folder, then open the Preferences folder.

    Thanks,

This problem has been fixed by the Fetch 5.0.1 update.

You can download Fetch 5.0.1 from the home page of the Fetch Softworks website:
