Cannot upload — Fetch Message Board

I have spent the last few days tearing my hair out over my inability to upload files to a particular server.

I am a longtime Fetch user and have never had trouble before. Been to many, many sites and have up- and downloaded files of every size and description.

My configuration is as follows. Mac G4 PPC (tower)/OS10.4.7/DSL/

The Fetch trancript for my attampts reads as follows:

257 "/ftp/Names/johnwalker" is current directory.
TYPE I
200 Type set to I.
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (69,32,134,27,191,238).
STOR DTM_2006-09.pdf
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for DTM_2006-09.pdf

No trouble loggng on to site or navigating to subdirectory.

Download--no problem.

At upload however, I get to "150" (in last line of transcript above) and nothing happens.

Other Mac users say they don't have trouble logging on and uploading to this site.

Any ideas?

Could you please quit Fetch, open Fetch again, try to connect to the server, and send us the entire transcript? The information at the top of the transcript is also helpful to us for troubleshooting problems.

Hi,

Our best guess is that you are out of space in your account on the server. Unfortunately, most servers don't return an error when this happens - they just misbehave.

Try deleting some files you don't need anymore (hopefully you can find a few), and then uploading a very small file and see if that works.

If that works, either delete more files you don't need, or you may want to contact the server maintainer and ask for more space.

If you still can't upload even a very small file after deleting some files, let us know.
