can't connect when others can! (2 posts)

  I work in an office that posts files to a local FTP (for our China clients) and also post to a clients FTP in Taiwan. A few weeks ago I started to have problems connecting to the Taiwan FTP. Nobody else in the department is having this problem. It gets as far as bringing up the file list, but never does. It either times out or has run for over 5 minutes so I give up. I have also not been able to connect to the ftp using the url.

  Yes, I have turned off the firewire settings under system preferences also. Any clue?

  Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents after you see the problem? That may give us a clue to the solution.
