Can't download files on my ftp site (4 posts)

    A client has loaded various files on to my ftp site. However, when I try to get them via Fetch, I get a message that says:

    Fetch could not get (whatever file name I choose) because the FTP server encountered an error accessing a file or folder.
    If you entered a filename, folder name, or URL, check that it is correct.
    Server responded: "Failed to open file."

    I've quite Fetch several times and restarted it. Same results. I've always been able to get to stuff on my FTP site. Wonders what's up?
    Many thanks for any help!

    Hi,

    We'd like some more information to help diagnose the problem.

    * Quit Fetch.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Connect to your server.
    * Try to download one of the problem files.
    * Then choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.

    Thanks,

    Well, it's working fine now (go figure). Downloading files just fine.

    I contacted a buddy who runs my site, He wrote back and said: "It's a permissions issue. I've fixed it manually, and will work on a permanent solution. If it happens in the future, let me know."

    So for now, things are working dandy. If we have any more issues. I'll holler. Many thanks for your kind response to my problem! Nice to know you're there!
