I have been having some problems connecting to my host server using Fetch. Quite often, when I try to connect, I receive an error message that says "Server Response: Can't Open Data Connection." Then the status reads "Connected" but I can't see files. Sometimes this happens with one directory but not others. I often try to refresh until the files finally appear, but it's very inconvenient.

This happens on a Mac iBook running OS 10.2.8. My Fetch is version 4.0.3.

The problem doesn't seem to be related to my server, because I can connect on a PC using Windows FTP with no problem.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents the next time you get that error message?

    Thanks,

Do you have the Firewall feature turned on in the Sharing section of System Preferences? If yes, could you try after turning it off?

    Thanks,
