If double-clicking on a file opens a new window that means that the original window is busy for some reason, and so Fetch needs to open a new window. What does it say under "Status" when you double-click the file? Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Thx for your reply.
I don't think it is helpful to post the transcripts cos it's not in Englsish.
What I think is the partial file ONLY stores the original user id, so if the user id is changed, it won't be able to recognize. Am I right?
I connect to host use new login id, use the "resume download" function inside "remote" in the menu bar,
It just started a new connection. I can say the original window is completely free for access.
Can you see what I am trying to say?
Thanks. -

Yes, you are right -- if you start a download under one user id, the Resume Download feature will not be able to complete the download under a different user id. You should start the download over from the beginning, using the "Get..." button.
Thanks,

Hello, I am using fetch 4.2. I failed to retrieve file after host change the login id. When I connected to host using new login and tried to retrieve file by double clicked the file, it would connect to host in a new window. Is possible to retrieve the file using a new login? I know I can do it in some windows ftp tool by choosing the property of the file. How to do it in Fetch?
Thank you!
