can't upload image file to the right format (6 posts)

    After the upgrade to version 5.5.2, I can't upload any image files (.jpg or .png) preserving the correct format to the web.

    I tried uploading using automatic, binary, MacBinary, etc. format, and they all upload the file into .hqx format, but it is not preserving the original file format. I can not see the image file on the web because it is still in .hqx format, not .jpg or .png

    I then tried to download the same .hqx file back into my computer to see what I got uploaded, but the same file is unreadable and is no longer an image file.

    If I revert it back to version 5.5.1, it works fine.

    Hi David,

    Could you please do the following?

    * Quit Fetch, if it's open.
    * Open Fetch 5.5.2.
    * Go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click the Upload tab.
    * Check the setting of the "Default upload format" menu. Is it set to "BinHex"?
    * If so, change it to Automatic, close the Preferences window.
    * Then connect to your server, and try uploading image files again.

    Let us know, and if that's not it, we'll investigate further.

    Thanks,

    After I quit Fetch and relaunch it, it works fine. So somehow it may have something to do with getting stuck in Preferences not resetting it until I quit and relaunch it.

    When I'm trying to upload a folder, it keeps saying "Fetch could not put ... because the FTP server sent an unexpected response. Server responded "cant access file"
    I'm connected to the server though, I see all the other folders on there but when I do "PUT" it starts uploading and the dog is running, but than the lower bar says "stopping" after which it's trying to put the second image up, so the dog starts running again, than stops again with the same message etc.
    It looks like it can't keep the connection to my folder, which is on my desktop and should not be a problem.
    I checked my preferences and they seem all OK
    Please advise.
    thanks
