I am new to fetch and i am trying to connect to my server, which is web.mac.com. I have entered in all of the information correctly (I though), but the dog either never stops running, or it says that it has timed out. Am i entering the wrong hostname?

    Hi,

Are you a subscriber to Apple's .Mac service, and trying to upload your webpages to your .Mac account?

web.mac.com is the web address for webpages on Apple's .Mac service.

I'm sorry, but Fetch does not support uploading to .Mac accounts (they are not regular FTP servers). Your webpage editor may have a way to upload to .Mac (particularly if you are using iWeb, it will upload automatically to .Mac), or you can connect to the .Mac service in the Finder to place files on it.

If you have a different web hosting service, such as Yahoo, GoDaddy, or your Internet provider, you can use Fetch to upload your files to the server, but you would not use web.mac.com as the hostname.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
