I just downloaded Fetch 4.0 and everytime I try to connect I receive an error message saying that the connection attempt timed out. What's going on and what can I do to fix it?

My first guesses would be that either the server is down, or the name you're entering in the Host field is incorrect. What name are you entering?

    Thanks,

I'm trying to log-on to the server at Kalamazoo College, so I've tried both cc.kzoo.edu and kzoo.edu. Both give me the same message.

cc.kzoo.edu is not a valid host name. kzoo.edu is answering when I try to connect (but of course I don't have a user id or password). Have you checked with the college help desk to confirm that kzoo.edu is the FTP server you want? Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window (it's listed in the Window menu) after you try to connect?

    Thanks,

I've checked with the help desk who confirmed that I should be using kzoo.edu, beyond that they weren't of any help. Here's the transcript:

    Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x910 Serial FETCHED001-8580-26BM WS
    Connecting to kzoo.edu port 21 (6/9/03 12:41:08 PM)
    Connecting to kzoo.edu port 21 (6/9/03 12:45:31 PM)

That seems to indicate a problem with your network connection. Can you connect to ftp.fetchsoftworks.com (leave the User ID and Password fields blank)?

    Thanks,

I tried connecting to fetchworks but that would not work either. The transcript comes out the same as before.

That definitely indicates a problem with your connection to the Internet. I would contact your Internet Service Provider or network administrator.

    Thanks,
