Does FETCH support "Ident" connections like FLASHFXP...? (5 posts)

  Can't seem to find this feature listed for FETCH, can any users out there verify if "ident connection" is supported in FETCH 5...?

  No, Fetch does not include an ident server. I believe there are stand-alone ident servers that you can run on your Mac.

  Do you need to contact an FTP server that requires ident support in the FTP client?

  I'm new to the whole "ident server" thing so I figured I'd ask...

  Will FETCH maybe support this feature in future versions...? Or is the "ident" thing too much trouble than it's worth...?

  I think it's unlikely that we will add an ident server to Fetch because ident servers have to have administrator privileges to run on Mac OS X, and we don't want to require running Fetch with those privileges.
