HI I have been using Fetch for a very long time and never had any problems. It is on my iMac system 10.5.8 (old but still works well) Just purchased a new Fetch for my Apple laptop 10.10.5, installed as usual BUT when I try and connect it says.

An FTP connection to"my site" could not be opened because the network is down.
Check your network connection, and try again.

My network is working fine for all other applications and even did a ping and works great.
If I change to Socks 4 or 5 dog just goes on and on. Using PASV.
Please help i have always liked Fetch and want to continue using but this is frustrating.

    Hi,

Thanks for posting. The next time you get an error could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents here, or at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback ? I'll see what I can figure out.

    Thanks,

I have the same problem. I've been using Fetch for a number of years - my university recommends it. However, now I get the message:

SFTP connection to 'unix.sussex.ac.uk' could not be opened because the SFTP server rejected your authentication information

    Hi Sue,

Could you follow the directions I offered Dave, above? I'll take a look and see what I can figure out about the source of the problem.

    Thanks,

I have also had problems with fetch recently. When we try to login, it says the following:

An FTP connection to " our domain name" could not be opened because the connection refused. Contact the server administrator for more information.

I contacted our web host and they said everything worked fine on their end. Here is the Fetch transcript:

When I try to connect to eyes2seephoto.com I get a connection refused message immediately. So it isn't just you, and it isn't just Fetch (I get the message using a different FTP client as well). I would contact the web hosting company again, and ask them to confirm that eyes2seephoto.com is the correct hostname for FTP logins.

    Thanks,
