  I've used Fetch with BBEdit Lite for years.

  but now have downloaded them into a new iBook, and newly edited versions of pages do not upload, even though notice says "transfer of [file name] complete."

  Do you mean that the uploads work, but you don't see the edited pages in your web browser? The first thing I'd try is the Reload or Refresh command in your browser. Let me know if that is not the problem.
