  i have fetch version: 5.3.1, macbook pro, cable internet with 15mb download speed, yet fetch is downloading at an average speed of 30kbps. is this normal and if not is there a way to increase download speed?

  Hi,

  Part of the discrepancy is that Fetch measures speed in bytes per second, while the cable company measures in bits per second. There are 8 bits in a byte, so Fetch is getting about 240kilobits/s, still far short of 15megabits/s.

  Fetch will usually download as fast as the server and connection allow, so it could be that you are being held back by the server. You could try downloading a file from ftp.fetchsoftworks.com (leave the Username and Password fields blank) to see if that is any faster. That would let you know if it's an issue with your server.
