I am having trouble downloading some files. it stalls after variable amounts of time between 1 second and about a minute. then a window saying connection closed comes up, sometimes immediately, sometimes after it stalls a while. it gets different amounts of the file each time. i have turned passive mode on and off with no luck.

i am currently trying an upload that has gotten to 16 megs so far without messing up. i'm confused.

i have a powermac g5 with plenty of disk space, DSL. here's some of my fetch transcript:

update: the upload went to 90 megs before i cancelled it myself. then i tried to download that file. first attempt got 280k. second attempt got 11 megs. third attempt 106k. the sporadic behavior is very confusing.

    Hi,

If you have access to other servers, do downloads from them work successfully?

There's no obvious problem visible in the transcript, and since uploads work and you have plenty of disk space, it may be a server issue. You should contact the server administrator and explain the problem to them.

Meanwhile, you should try using the "Resume Download" feature of Fetch, which will let you start a download from where it got stopped. See the Resuming an interrupted download topic in Fetch Help for more information.

    Thanks,
