dropped image — Fetch Message Board

I have spent a lot of time trying to find the answer to my question on the forum, hopefully I can get some help like so many others.
Used iWeb to create website. Running OS X and Fetch 5.2.1 Having trouble uploading just a few files to server. Not sure if it is a Server or Fetch issue. I drop infomation from individual folders published by iweb into fetch window. Most files are fine, but I get this message with some: Fetch could not put "droppedimage.jpg: because the FTP server sent an unexpected response or "Opening BINARY mode data connection for dropped image.jpg." The .jpg image it is refering to is the header, which is the same for every page. Default download mode is set to Automatic. Would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.

Hi Scott,

Can you not upload any files successfully to the website at this point? What if you try to upload the same image to a different folder? (I realize you may not want it there ulitmately; you can use Fetch to delete the image after you try.)

And we'd like to see the part of the transcript where Fetch establishes a connection with the server. Could you please quit Fetch, open Fetch again, connect to your server, and send us the transcript from just doing that?

Hope this is what you wanted. I tried uploading .png from inside the iWeb folder for that particular page to another folder on the server, but the dog just kept running.
I have uploaded several files (pages) to the server successful and show up fine on the browser, but it appears that some of my pages that have .jpg or .png files are not uploading. One of the files that is not uploading is just the header (.jpg) and text.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the transcript.

Try the following:

* Choose Preferences from the Fetch menu.
* Click the General tab.
* Make sure "Use passive mode transfers" is checked.
* Make a new connection to the server, and try uploading, and see if that helps.

If that doesn't help, you should to check with the folks who run the web server and make sure that you are not out of space in your account on the server; that could cause these sort of problems.

Scott,
Simply Amazing! It was an issue with server space rather than a Fetch Software issue. I have read several other message boards like this, and this is one of the few where the administrators actually respond to issues. This just shows me that Fetch stands behind its software. If I can make this site using iWeb, anyone can do this! Thank you for your help!
