Duplicate URL's (2 posts)

    I just started a new site: http://www.cordless-phone-reviews.com/index.html
Uploaded 20-30 pages and all looking good. To get things moving with the SE's I generated an XMLsitemap. To my surprise every url was duplicated i.e. both a .html version and a non .html version. This is causing some issues with the SE's because of duplicate metadata etc. This duplication is only visible in sitemaps. When I check the files on my Mac and on Godaddy only .htlml files are visible.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS5 and pretty sure the problem isn't there. Wondered if maybe Fetch is doing some duplicating. Any thoughts?

    Hi,

No, Fetch would not create duplicate URLs in a sitemap. Fetch does not affect the URLs of webpages when displayed in the browser or in sitemaps. All Fetch does is upload files to the location you indicate files should be uploaded; it does not make changes to the contents of files or their names.

Perhaps it's an issue in the tool you used to generate the sitemap? Anyway, Fetch is almost certainly not the cause of the problem.

    Thanks,
