duplication of file extensions - page names (4 posts)

my website that I have created with Iweb, when I update it using Fetch, duplicates the names of pages. example:
    http://jerleckitechnologylab.com/portfolio/Classroom_Blog/Classroom_Blog.html

Any idea how to fix this? I have been told to delete everything from the site first and then re-upload the folder that contains the webs site [which in this case is called portfolio]

I thank you all in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hi Matt,

Actually, the only page with a duplication of the name is the Classroom Blog page, as far as I can tell.

And unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about this if you continue to use iWeb - it's a result of how iWeb creates and organizes the pages that make up a website. It's not anything Fetch has control over. Deleting and starting over will not fix the problem.

When you create a blog in iWeb, it puts all the blog files inside a folder with the name of the blog (Classroom_Blog, in your case), and then creates a main page for the blog with the same name (Classroom_Blog.html) inside that folder. So the result is you see the name of the blog twice in the address of the blog's main page, because the address of the page shows the folders the page is inside. You can't rearrange the files to avoid this, because if you do, your links to the blog will break because iWeb created all the other pages assuming the files are in the Classroom_Blog folder.

I hope that clarifies what is going on. Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
