    hi.
    We're testing our gigabit network.
AFP file copies between machines are working ok- we're getting about 23MB a second in OS9 and OSX
Doing command line ftp copies the files in nearly 25MB a second.

Fetch doesn't even come close to these rates. I'm getting 2-10 MB a sec in OSX and 6-12MB a sec in os9. We use fetch mainly for pushing largish files(5-100MB) to our sun boxes.

    ideas?

Hardware test notes- g4-800 connected to a 4 processor sun 420r via a foundry gigabit switch.

Fetch won't take full advantage of gigabit networks until some changes are made to its networking code. Those changes may make it into the next major release.
