Fetch 5 adds .bin to file name (3 posts)

When I post a file to my website with Fetch 5 ".bin" is added to the end of the file. For example blahblah.pdf will show up as blahblah.pdf.bin or blahblah.html as blahblah.html.bin and these files can't be opened. I reverted back to v.4.3 and the files posted properly. I also noticed I could edit the name of the file in 4.3--I guess I could probably do that in v.5 as well but I'm wondering why .bin is being added to everything. Thanks

OK, maybe I'm answering my own question. I opened Fetch 5 prefs and unchecked all the "add file name extension when opened" boxes.

    Hi,

It sounds like Fetch is uploading your files in MacBinary format, which for pdf files and html files, may not be what you want.

Do the files open properly (outside of Fetch) now that you've turned off the "add filename extension" preference? If not, could you please give us some information so we can help you fix the problem?

Is "Automatic" selected in the Format submenu of the Remote menu?

Do you know if you're uploading to a server that is running on a Macintosh?

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
