Today we released Fetch 5.7.2, a bug-fix update to Fetch 5.7. This release fixes a number of problems reported by 5.7 users.

    The changes include:

    • Added compatibility with the Gatekeeper feature of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
    • Changed the Edit command to not open editor windows in front when Fetch is in the background
    • Fixed a problem that caused crashes when the Fetch.log file could not be created
    • Fixed a problem where an SFTP passphrase for a server using Two Factor Authentication was not hidden
    • Fixed a problem where the modification dates of uploaded files were temporarily displayed in UTC
    • Fixed a problem with using Preview as an editor on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
    • Improved compatibility with Windows NT servers

For a complete list of changes, see the Fetch 5.7.2 Release Notes.

Fetch 5.7.2 is a free update if you purchased your Fetch license after January 28, 2009; otherwise an upgrade is $10, and a new license is $29. Fetch 5.7.2 is compatible with Intel Macs running OS X 10.5 or newer.

Please download Fetch 5.7.2 from the Fetch Download page, or by choosing Check for Update… from the Fetch menu in an earlier version, and let us know what you think of the new release.

How do I make 5.7.2 not ask for access to keychains I OK'd with 5.7.1 (and not ask for sites I've not yet visited).

    Hi,

You should be asked the first time you access a password that was saved by Fetch 5.7.1. If you click "Always Allow" you shouldn't be asked about that password again.

In order to make Fetch 5.7.2 compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion we had to make a change to Fetch's code signature. So the keychain does not realize that 5.7.2 and 5.7.1 are different versions of the same program, and asks you for confirmation. Unfortunately I don't know of a way to keep it from asking about each one of your passwords.

    Thanks,

Trying to upgrade but get this message-

"The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again."

I went to the Fetch app and checked for all admins to be able to read and write.
Not sure how to find other items that need to be unlocked???

    Thanks!

This error sometimes happens when you try to replace the current copy of Fetch with a new copy. I'd recommend dragging the current copy of Fetch to the Trash, and then installing the new version.

    Thanks,

I've not been able to put files on my yahoo website since they said to switch to FTPS mode. I've followed all the Yahoo instructions (many times) and all the Fetch instructions (many times), changed any settings I had that may have been messing things up, but I still can't upload my files. I can connect to my site and get files from it with no problem, but when I hit "Put" instead of "Get", I get a finder window that shows only my desktop and is frozen. I can't move to my documents (and from there to my folder where the site is stored), I can't cancel, and can't do anything except quit Fetch and try again. And again. And again again.... As soon as it has responded to the "Put" command, it freezes and I can't do anything. Help?

    Hi Patti,

Does it work to drag files from the Finder to the Fetch window?

    Thanks,
