    I just started having an issue with Fetch - I'm uploading a file and everthing freezes for more than 30 seconds when uploading - it's happened on .css files and on .html files - I can't even Force Quit Fetch I have to turn the computer off.

    I'm on an Intel Mac 10.4.10. The mac is only a month old but I've been a Fetch user forever and I've never had this problem before.

    I'm using the latest version of Fetch 5.2.1

    Hi,

    We're sorry to hear you're having problems with Fetch.

    The first thing I would try is removing the Fetch preferences and see if this helps.

    To do this:

    * Choose "Home" from the Go menu in the Finder
    * Open the Library folder
    * Open the Preferences folder
    * Find the Fetch Prefs, Fetch Cache, and com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch.plist files, and move them to the Desktop.

    Then try to upload again in Fetch. Does that fix the problem? If so, please email the three files you moved to the Desktop to us at:

    bb at fetchsoftworks dot com

    so that we can figure out why they make Fetch freeze up.

    If that does not fix the problem, let us know and we'll investigate further.

    Thanks,

    Well that didn't go well -- I could not find a Fetch Prefs file, removed the other two to my desktop, started the program and now its asking me to buy or try the program...

    What am I supposed to do now? I put the files back in until I hear from you..but I still get the buy or try window...

    Can you give me a new key or whatever so I don't have to pay for the program again?

    I was suprised that I could not find a Fetch Prefs when I seached I was getting some cookie.txt file but no Fetch Prefs.

    I found the serial number...so I'm set with that should I just remove the files again or what? Is there a reason I can't find a Pref file?

    Hi,

    If you don't have a Fetch Prefs file, that's fine and not unexpected. I'm sorry, I should have said that you might not have one in my original message to you.

    (Fetch Prefs is a file created by older versions of Fetch, so if you've never run an older version, you won't have one. But I wanted to include it on the list in case you did have one.)

    Also sorry about the serial number confusion, I'm glad you found it again. (Should you ever have a problem finding it in the future, we can look it up for you.)

    So yes, please try:

    * Quitting Fetch
    * Moving the com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch.plist and Fetch Cache files to the Desktop
    * And then try uploading again.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,
