Fetch Stalls at 4mb's (5 posts)

    Fetch has worked great untill three weeks ago. Here is the
    transcript, any help thanks tracy

    Hi,

    If the upload of a large file always stalls at the same place, the most likely cause is that you are out of space (also known as "quota") in your account on the server.

    Unfortunately most FTP servers don't give a useful error when this happens, and your server doesn't report the remaining space in its transcript.

    You should try deleting unused files, if possible, and see if that fixes the problem.

    If you can't delete any of the files, you should contact the folks who maintain your server and check to see how much space you have left, and if you are running out of space, how to get more. If this turns out not to be the problem, please let us know and we'll try to figure out what the problem is.

    Tried deleting all files....the upload still stalled at 4.8mb.
    did test upload with othe ftp program....seemed to work past 4.8 mb, went to 18mb(untill time limit kicked in) Fetch only lic ftp i have...really like it. used it forever. thanks tracy

    Hi Tracy,

    Could you make sure you are using these settings in the Fetch Preferences:

    * In the General pane, "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" is checked.
    * In the Obscure pane, "Contact server during long transfers" is unchecked.

    And then try transferring the file again? Let us know if that helps.
