Fetch worked like a charm posting to comcast and the only thing that has changed is my cable modem.
I now have an Xfinity Arris TG862
I am on a Mac running the latest system 10.8.3 and latest version of Fetch 5.7.3
I have checked all the suggested settings and made sure that Fetch is an allowed app through my firewall etc.

I also tried to post using Vicomsoft FTP client. No go. Same sort of time out issue.

Thing is some files will post and some not. File size doesn't seem to matter.

Files that don't seem to work that may show up in the Fetch posted list are listed as 0k and don't work/have any data.

After a few min. I get this Fetch error message: Fetch could not put "Vivienne_Clark_Design_edgeActions.js" because the connection timed out. There might be a problem with you network, or the server might not be responding.

I contacted Comcast...They said they are not experiencing any problems...any help would be appreciated.

Here is a copy of my Fetch transcript:

    Hi,

One possibility is that you've run out of space on the Comcast server. You could contact Comcast about that, or try deleting some files before uploading new files.

Another possibility is that the server does not like the length of the file name "Vivienne_Clark_Design_edgeActions.js", or the underscores in the name. As a test you could make a copy of the file, name it "edge.js", and see if that upload works.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for your reply.

All of these files and file names were working fine and I have 1 gig of space. My files are less than 250 mb.

I had originally changed some HTML text on my web page and uploaded just the changed files and realized that there were issues uploading.

The only thing that has changed is my modem. Other than that all the files and file names and sizes are basically the same as they were and were uploading fine before the modem change.

In my attempt at trouble shooting the problem I had removed all the files from the server and stared all over again. The only way I could get my site back up was to use Comcast's browser page to load ech file. That method takes a really long time to do.

I will do a test with the file name. However since I used Adobe Edge to build this site you can't just randomly start shortening file names because all the files rely on each other and are referenced throughout pages of code. plus before the new modem this all worked.

    Again thanks for your reply.

if you or anyone else has any other ideas of what it could be I would appreciate the help.

It's suspicious that the problem started when you got a new modem. You might contact Comcast about the problem, and suggest they swap in a replacement.
