Just uploaded my nine webpages to my website: www.totlhealth.com/ and confirmed in the Fetch transcript. But I dont see them (site still shows "under construction"). What do I do next?

What were the names of your web pages? Was one of them index.html or index.htm?

If you did not upload an index.html or index.htm page the web server will use the under construction page as the main page instead.

If you did upload an index page it could be that you uploaded it to the wrong folder on the server. According to the PowWeb Fetch tutorial at http://support.powweb.com/index.php?category=&topic_id=6 you need to enter the htdocs folder before uploading.

    Thanks,

    Jim Matthews

I opened the htdocs folder and uploaded the index.html and then the web pages (all nine are under the heading of "Total Health". The Fetch transcript said they were completed. Sorry to be such a ditz.

Could you re-upload your index.html file, and then choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents?

    Thanks,

Your index.html page needs to actually be named index.html. Otherwise your users will need to enter www.totlhealth.com/Home Page1.html to see your page.

    Jim,

Sorry I'm so trying. I eliminated the 'Home 1.html', went to a new connection, uploaded the 'index.html' that showed up, then 'my webpages (copy 2). But when I go to my site, it still shows 'under construction'. The host is <ftp04.powweb.com>

The transcript shows you uploading a file named "My webpages (copy 2)", but it does not show you uploading a file named index.html. And that's what you need to do. So I would recommend renaming the file on your Mac that contains your main page to index.html. Then upload it using the Put button in Fetch, the same way you uploaded "My webpages (copy 2)".

    Thanks,

    Jim Matthews

I do now see my Home Page, no graphics, nor the rest of my web pages. You've got me this far, but I sure feel like a pre-schooler! I thot I uploaded the pages (in parts) and the images as .gif, but I dont see them. I sure feel like a dummy!!!

Now you need to upload the other files that make up your website, the same way you uploaded your index.html file.

If your other files are in the same folder as index.html on your Mac, they should be in the same folder as index.html on the server. It looks to me like your other HTML pages are inside a folder named "index_files". In that case you should upload the entire index_files folder to your server so that it sits next to the index.html file in the file list, like this:

    index.html
    index_files

If you still don't see images after doing that upload post the contents of your Fetch Transcript window.

    Thanks,

    “STATURE: THE KEY”
This is a medical text and therapy manual combined. Scan the contents of this outstanding book now. The first page of selected chapters and some examples of the manual techniques illustrated follows next to help you decide why this book should be in your library. We believe you will want this book in its entirety.
DOWNLOAD IT NOW and begin working with it immediately, OR ORDER IT IN SOFT COVER.

In this book, each page offers an essential principle or a new idea. Built upon anatomical, physiological, and clinical bases and framed by many investigations, it ends with precise therapeutic proposals. Although originally intended as a workbook primarily for naturopaths, podiatrists, physical and massage therapists, we are aware that the first edition of Stature: The Key demonstrated usefulness to practitioners in other disciplines. This second edition serves as both a textbook and manual for all physicians and all practitioners who teach and who work with patients. With this book the referring physician is enabled to write a more intelligent prescription and at the same time this volume serves as a manual for the practitioner. This second edition of Stature: The Key has been revised and expanded. Appendices have been added providing Defect Examinations and additional easily detected Special Pressure Points.

EXAMPLES OF THE FIRST PAGE of Chapters 2, 4, 8, and the EZ-MANEUVERS follow:
    WHY WRITE ABOUT STATURE?

Olympic gymnasts do not miss their exercises. In their spinal columns, as in their feet, sensory collectors, reflex mechanisms, and the small muscles of execution have all been trained in miniature. Whether it concerns the foot or the spinal column, thought centers especially upon small muscles, small tendons, and small articulations. All are perfectly miniaturized: in this respect, the sympathetic system resembles a computer and its chips.

If one follows the Darwin theory of evolution, the human is seen as the highest stage of development; if one subscribes to the theory that man is a unique and ever-evolving species of its own, the discovery of the Zinjanthrope dating back 1,900,000 years is strong evidence. Both theories see present-day man using the two lower extremities for mobility and stature…

CHAPTER 2: THE THIRD LUMBAR VERTEBRA: THE KEY
Basmajian and Hendrix agree and accept that man possesses a spine whose every segment is all the more great, heavy, and resistant to those situated lower. This is contrary to the other primates and is due to mans’ upright station in life. The third lumbar vertebra occupies a characteristic place in the human: it is the heaviest vertebra. This occurs solely in man; other species do not show a pause in the lumbar ladder.
However, this fact does not lie within the vertebral body itself because L4 is larger and weighs more. It is the weight of the neural arc that makes the difference. The former is proportional to the development of the apophyses rooted there and which translate the functional importance of muscles that attach there.

It has been emphasized earlier that L3 in man will be an important muscle relay center. Since the differentiation at this level between man and animal is due to the upright carriage alone, one can conclude that L3 occupies a privileged position in the static proprioceptive relay.
    TOTAL HEALTH

    STATURE: THE KEY (cont.)

CHAPTER 4: THE PROPRIOCEPTIVE MUSCLE CHAIN

This section describes the different captors and the pedal proprioceptive pathway placed into action by the various physiological enslavements at the sole. There is abrogation of both lateral and anterior-posterior balance. Structural foot modification can be obtained only by muscle action. Thanks to encapsulation of postural muscles, they form a somatic proprioceptive chain. We will study this encasing of the pedal framework, recalling that the foot has only two means to remedy this:

To change its vertical axis in a rolling movement. Thus, the foot supports itself by one or the other of its lateral arches, as in the example cited previously of the stabilizing wheels on a child's bicycle. This action will manifest when standing upon one foot. We will examine this action first. To bring pressures transferred by the talus either more forward or more to the rear (to counter physiological anterior-posterior oscillations). We will study this behavior in the second part.

It is certain these structural adjustments can be obtained only by muscle action. We have discussed these muscles earlier, in chapter two. We know that they contain specialized captors, the points of departure of proprioceptive influx to ascending destinations. Let us look more closely at this system composed of proprioceptive captors, a proprioceptive chain in lateral balance (unipedal), and a proprioceptive chain in anterior-posterior balance (unipedal).

THE PHENOMENON OF THE PROPRIOCEPTIVE PATHWAY

Those who do not subscribe to the affects of proprioceptive pathway activation as a therapeutic means are, in general, not well-schooled neurologically. A brief explanation of this phenomenon follows: The phenomenon of the proprioceptive polysynaptic pathway leads from various muscles over specialized pressure-sensitive captors to each medullary stratum and forms an oscillating circuit which can corrupt underlying layers, a long physiologic chain. From a neurological viewpoint there is a means of explanation for this phenomenon: it is obviously the study of action currents…(cont.)

CHAPTER 8: SUMMARY AND PRACTICAL CONCLUSIONS

We have discussed the extreme limits of variations in function of foot pathology and shown effective control methods for each of them. However, we must be realistic in everyday clinical life and consider the responses to daily problems. Unfortunately, not every subject fits perfectly into one specific category. No one of us is perfectly symmetrical. We must also recognize that somatic proprioceptive conditions are never identical side-to-side. The individual with two high-arched feet will not present with mirrored arches: there will always exist an unevenness connected to either osseous causes or muscle contractures. This fact introduces a pair of pelvic rotations that necessitate the detection, measuring, and correction of them.
