I have downloaded my new Fetch version, serial number below, moved it to my application folder, but it will not connect. I am trying to connect through FTP. The error message I receive is "An FTP connection to svecconway.com could not be opened because the connection timed out. There might be a problem with your network, or the server might not be resonding" However, my home server is working (my email is working) and the company I am trying to connect to server is working.

I have reinstalled the Fetch software a number of times, trashed my old version and have restarted my computer. I am using a MAC, version 6.8.

What should I do to be able to use this software?

The FTP server at svecconway.com is not responding to me either, so it isn't a problem with Fetch or your computer. I would double-check that hostname, and contact the server administrator.

    Thanks,

Jim, You were correct. The problem was on their end. Thank you for your quick response. And can I tell you... that Fetch has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was actually surprised at how fast I received a response from Fetch Customer Service both of the times that I had questions. THANK YOU.

I have Fetch 5.7. I have used it here at Cox Communications for 2 years without a problem.
Just yesterday our Cox Corporate FTP bookmarks stopped working. The dog just keeps running.
All other bookmarks work fine. I called 4 other people and they are able to get on.
I'm also able to use Fetch at home to connect.

I'm thinking there is some sort of file imbedded on this computer not allowing me to utilized the ftp.cox.com server.

This morning I downloaded your Fetch Help.pdf and uninstalled taking out the files from the cache and preferences folders...thinking that this is the problem. It is still doing the same thing.

    Can you please help?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

After trying to connect could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents? I'll see what I can figure out.

    Thanks,

I made a fetch server with my gmail account ,but when i connect to aaa.appspot.com/fetchserver ,it failed why?

    Hi,

Does your server support FTP? aaa.appspot.com/fetchserver looks like a web address, rather than an FTP server.

    Thanks,

I run into problems connecting and get the message that the server rejected the password. I am very UNtechie and don't know where the server is or who the server administrator is. I'm one individual working at home. I create email blasts that I upload regularly to our FTP. 85% of the time I have no issues. The password has never changed so that is not the problem. What IS the problem? I just updated my FETCH thinking that might help but no luck. Please advise in using simple language for an UNtech type such as myself. thanks.

    Hi Elliot,

The server that you upload your email blasts to is run by somebody, and they're the people you need to talk to. You probably have to pay for your account on their server, so it's likely someone who bills you on a regular (maybe monthly, maybe annual) basis.

    I hope this helps,
