using fetch 4.03 ( trial Version ). If I put some files from my first MAC ( MAC 8.6) ( for ex. Quicktime mov ) via fetch on my server ( linux -samba file server ) and want to get it from the server to my other computers ( OSX 9, OSX 10 , Win 2000 ) it is not possible to open the file. If i get it back on the computer from which i put it to the server , i runs well. Somebody how can help me ?? thanx Daniel

I would make sure that the file has the appropriate file name extension (for a QuickTime movie that would be .mov) and that you upload it in Automatic or Raw Data format. I would also make sure that the movie file is self-contained; QuickTime movies can be self-contained or not, and only self-contained movies transfer well.

Please let me know if that does not solve the problem.

    Thanks,

You are using Fetch to put the file on the server; what software are you using to pull the file off the server? Are the other computers connecting to the server as a file server (making it look like a disk on their desktop) or are they using an FTP program like Fetch?

    Thanks,
