I am trying to upload two files:

    with higher ascii characters

    original file names:
    ütestä
    usordás

    after transfer with fetch:
    %9ftest%8a
    usord%87s

How does fetch translate these file names?
With TRANSMIT and command line ftp, I am able to transfer the file and preserve the names.

    Thanks

Make sure that "Encode file and folder names" is unchecked in the Upload section of Preferences. Also, you may need to change the setting of "Translate ISO Characters" in the Misc. section.

    Thanks,

Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu after you get the error and post the contents? That might help explain what is going on.

    Thanks,
