    Hello,
Is there anyway to configure an (Applescript) folder action on a folder in our ftp site to send me a notification when something gets dropped into it? Cause that would be awesome.

    Hi,

No, you can't add AppleScript folder actions to folders on FTP servers - unfortunately, FTP servers don't support folder actions or AppleScript. Only things on your Mac do.

We do have a script that will check a folder on the server for new files every 15 minutes and download them to a folder on your Mac; let us know if you'd be interested in more information about that.

    Thanks,

    HI,
Thanks for the info. Your program sounds cool, but this folder is seldomly used, so checking it every 15 minutes would be overkill.

Do send a link, so if anyone else at my company could use it I can refer you to them.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

If you are familiar with AppleScript, it's not hard to change the script to check at less frequent intervals. However, if the folder is only used every couple of days, then having a script running all the time just to check on it may not make sense.

The script is available as part of the Fetch 5.6 Example Scripts download, which can be found on our Download page.

    Thanks,
