folder selection for downloads in 10.3 (2 posts)

    In OS 10.1, when I would use the Get command, I would be cued to select a folder to download. This gave me the option to create a new folder at that time.

    Now I have upgraded to Panther, and I find that I am not asked where to download to, but rather files are automatically downloaded to the folder selected in the Preferences.

    This is a clumsy workaround, I liked it better before.

    I did not re-install Fetch after I changed systems.

    You can go back to the earlier behavior by unchecking the "Use download folder" checkbox in the Download section of Preferences.
