I have set up an FTP server on my network and can successfully access it through explorer. I can copy files from the server to my laptop, but not vice versa. I get an error.

    FTP Folder Error

An error occurred copying a file to the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

    Details:
    200 Type set to I.
    227 Entering Passive Mode(192,168,111,22,9,97).

    Hi,

It sounds like you do not have write permission for the folder. You should double-check the permissions you've given it for your account.

    Thanks,

    Already got that set up.
Does this have to be using the Active Directory permissions though or can it work without it?

I'm not familiar with Active Directory server administration, so I don't know the specific answer to your question. I would recommend asking the vendor of the server software; tell them that you can write files to a particular folder with Windows Explorer but not with an FTP client. That should give them enough information to diagnose the problem.

    Thanks,
