I keep being denied permission to upload.. the message says ftp server denies permission.

How do I take care of that? Is it a problem on the receiver's side? I think I may have understood that their server is too full?

OR is it a matter of something I have to do?

    Hi,

After you try to upload and you get the error message, could you please choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them here? We'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on.

    Thanks,

I too am having this problem. I upgraded from Fetch 4 on MacOS 8.6 (Powebook G3 Wall Street) to Fetch 5.1 on MacOS 10.4.7 (MBP 15" 2.16 GHz). I had no problems with the previous setup. I initialted the connection, went directly to "public_html" and tried to upload a file. Server transcript is as follows:

    Hi PKfanSteph,

Try this: when you use the Put command, change the setting of the "If a file already exists:" menu to "Replace existing file". Do not use "Pick a different name".

Let us know if that does not fix the problem for you.

    Thanks,

When trying to connect as a guest, Fetch disconnects me every time. This is a new problem. I have been using Fetch with this same vendor for years without problems. I called them they are not having issues. Any thoughts?

    Hi,

When you are disconnected could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents (either here or at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback)? I'll see what I can figure out.

    Thanks,

We keep getting server rejected password message. This is while using same username and password to same server for years. Retyped connection info and still same result. This connection worked when someone at vendor location typed it in. I tried the troubleshooting steps on the support site. We don't have a firewall, and toggled PASV and LIST -al command. We are on Mac OS 10.9.5 which is what we used when we installed this version (5.7.3).
Don't know what else to do. Thanks

    Hi,

Fetch sends whatever you enter to the server, and it's the server that decides whether to accept it or not. The solution is to contact the server administrators and reset the FTP login password for the account.

    Thanks,
