Hi Peggy,
Could you try connecting again, and then choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the entire contents of that window? That should provide clues that we can use to figure out what is going on.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

I have the exact same problem, Core FTP LE on my PC and other people can use the identical hostname, password etc. and it connects.

Hi Konrad,
Try setting the "Connect to:" menu to SFTP; does that help?
Thanks,

Hi,
Ever since I upgraded to the new version of Fetch 5.7.3 none of my FTP connections work for any server.
I also tried the SFTP as Jim Matthews suggested but it did not work.- Ed

Hi Ed,
After you get the error could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents? I'll see what I can figure out.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Hi Kent,
It looks like your hosting company does not support SFTP. What does the transcript look like if you set the "Connect using" menu to FTP?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

I get further than that when I try to connect to kentandandrea.org, so I don't think the problem is with the server. That suggests a problem with your connection to the Internet. You might try restarting your router or cable modem (if that's how you are connecting to the Internet).

I am in Mozambique, Africa so is it possible the internet may be too weak. I tried publishing the website a few months back and it looks like the welcome page almost made it up. Talked to Godaddy yesterday and found out the www. was pointing to the old mac.com (mobileme) site. After fixing that now I am trying to re-publish the entire website.
Maybe you can help me with another question. When publishing the 2nd website do I do it through the New folder and can I publish more sites?
I did see the other day the welcome page was published on the same window and my kentpowellart site.
a bit confused still -

Hi,
I'm not sure I understand your questions. Are you using iWeb? How many sites do you have?

I just purchased your Fetch program to try and do my corrections to my website. I currently have an IMAC running mountain lion, and I keep getting this error message after waiting for about 45 seconds.

Hi,
You should contact the people who run the server -- the people who told you to connect to 94.74.144.178 -- and let them know that the server at that address is not responding. Perhaps the address has been changed.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Hi,
I wonder if you've hit your storage quota on the server. The server seems to be stopping uploads at the same point in the file each time Fetch tries. You might try deleting some files from the server (if there are any you can spare), or contacting the server administrator to see what the storage quota situation looks like.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

An FTP connection to my organization's ftp site cannot be opened because the message says the FTP server dropped the connection and to verify the server is running. I can access the ftp site from a OC using WinSCP with no problem but had trouble with the free trial AND the paid 5.6 version. the message also says the Server responded SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.6.1p2
Thanks.
