I am trying to load blog software onto my site... I am using a download version of fetch to upload files. The problem comes when I can not figure out how to set permissions on a file. When I do a search on setting permissions...I am told to open the multiple users box...I am not sure if this is what I want. The software wants me to set permissions to 777 on a file and to look for 9 boxes to check...how do I get to this point in Fetch?

    Here are the steps:

    1) Run Fetch and connect to the server.
    2) Navigate to the directory containing the file or files you want to set permissions on. To enter a directory, double-click on its folder icon. If you've visited a directory recently it will be listed in the Directories menu.
    3) Select the files you want to operate on by cmd-clicking on them.
    4) Choose "Set Permissions..." from the Remote menu. Check all the boxes to set permissions to 777. Then press OK.

    Thanks,

You can select a single file by clicking on it in the file list . To select a second file, hold down the Command key (the one with an Apple logo and pretzel shape on the keycap) and clicking.

It sounds like you are getting a message about a folder being "restricted" before you get to the file you want to set permissions for? When you get that error could you:

    1) Click the OK button to dismiss the error.
    2) Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu
    3) Choose "Select All" from the Edit menu.
    4) Choose "Copy" from the Edit menu.
    5) Go to your web browser and Paste into your reply to this topic?
