help downloading big files? (2 posts)

    I've been trying to download Mac OS 9.1 from apple.com, only it's taking HOURS. I've used the much older (free) Fetch a lot and like it; would the new Fetch help me download these files faster?

    Download speed is usually a function of the network and the server; changing the program doing the downloading usually does not make a big difference. But I would still recommend trying Fetch, since it may be more reliable, and will let you restart downloads that are interrupted.
