I am trying to use the trial version and can't even get past the new connection popup!!!!!

Hostname--have no idea what the heck that is...I just want to send large music files to directors I work for, etc.....

What I thought was my username and password on my computer does not seem to work.......

I need simple instructions to get me through this step..
    Thanks all for your help

    Hi Ray,

Fetch just by itself will not send large files to other people. Those people must be running a server for you to put the large files on; Fetch connects to that server and then you can upload the files to it. Fetch is just a client program for talking to servers.

Each server has an Internet address - just like websites have addresses - and it's that address that you put in the hostname field. Usually you have an account on the server, and the username and password for that account is what you enter in those fields of the New Connection dialog.

You should ask the directors if they have an FTP server for you to upload files to, and if so, they need to tell you what to enter in the hostname, username, and password fields of Fetch in order to connect to the server.

You may also find the What do I enter in the hostname, username, and password fields? and the introductory Fetch tutorials topics in Fetch Help (or just click the links here) useful.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the informative reply. NOW I get it!!!!

I will ask the director about her FTP capabilities---if not, I'll just convert my .wav files to the more compressed MP4 format and email the tracks to her...........

    Thanks again
