    I have a lot of shortcuts in a MAC OS9 v3.0.3.

How can I import these into version 5.1?? Help.

    Hi,

These are the steps you should follow to move your Fetch 3.0.3 shortcuts from Mac OS 9 to Fetch 5.1.

    1. Locate the "Fetch Shortcuts" file on your old Macintosh that is running Mac OS 9. To do this, open your System Folder, then open the Preferences folder. The Fetch Shortcuts file is in that folder.
    2. Copy that file to the new Macintosh running Mac OS X.
    3. Run Fetch 5.1 on the new Macintosh.
    4. Cancel the New Connection dialog if it appears.
    5. Choose Shortcuts > Show Shortcuts.
    6. In the Finder, double-click the "Fetch Shortcuts" file from your OS 9 system.
    7. You should now have two shortcut list windows open, both named "Fetch Shortcuts".
    8. Choose Edit > Select All in the window containing your old shortcuts.
    9. Drag the selected shortcuts to the other "Fetch Shortcuts" window.
    10. Close the window containing your old shortcuts.
    11. Quit Fetch 5.1 to make sure your new shortcuts are saved.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks,

I was able to import the old shortcuts buy following your directions in Fetch version 5.0.5 and then copy them over to the shortcut winodw in 5.1. Yea! But alas it did not carry over the passwords!! Grrrrr.

    Hi,

We're sorry you had problems; you shouldn't have lost your passwords or needed to take the extra steps.

Could you please email your Fetch 3.0.3 Fetch Shortcuts file to us at:

    bugs at fetchsoftworks dot com

along with a short description of the problem? We'll take a look and see if we can figure out what's going on, and possibly how to get the passwords back.

    Thanks,
