I recently switched to an Apple Mac OS 10.4 laptop and up-load ASP.NET programs & data to a dedicated Windows 2003 Server. It seems like about once a week, I cannot post to the server - ACCESS violation for posting/renaming. Think is was error 550. I can be working on the computer earlier in the evening, but then it stops working. Using a PC Laptop through the same connection allowed access. The following morning, I could still not connect via the MAC. The ISP provider did not see anything unusual in the FTP logs. They suggested that I connect directly in terminal mode. Tried this. After that time, I retried the Fetch connection and it worked - has done so flawlessly for about 30 hours. A few questions: (1) Was the fact that the problem went away after using Terminal mode just coincidental, or might I have done something and (2) Am I alone in have this odd experience?

    Hi,

Most likely it was a coincidence; using the command line FTP client in the Terminal should not affect whether Fetch is able to upload successfully or not. Despite what the provider said, it may have been some intermittent problem on the server.

If you run into the problem again, please send us a Fetch transcript, and we may be able to figure out where the problem is.

(To send us a transcript, choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a message.)

But we're glad to hear you're up and working again now.

    Thanks,
