Every time I put a file I get an error message "Fetch could not put file; the FTP server had an unexpected response" and that "STOU file name" had an invalid number of perameters. When I drag and drop from Mac finder to the window, the file appears to upload but once complete, times out, and voila stalls--no upload. What's happening?

    Hi,

When you use the Put command, change the setting of the "If a file already exists:" menu to "Replace existing file". Do not use "Pick a different name".

When this menu is set to "Pick a different name", Fetch sends the "STOU" command to the server (asking the server to give your file a unique name to make sure it does not replace an existing file). Some servers do not support the "STOU" command, and give these errors as a result.

Let us know if this does not fix the problem.

    Thanks,

Yes! This worked. Look like 3 files were successfully uploaded. Interesting that when each upload finished I got an error message saying the file could not be uploaded because the server timed out, and I was disconnected. Not sure why. Fortunately, each time I reconnected the file was there listed in the index. Thanks so much for your help and timely response!

    Hi,

Some FTP servers get pretty confused when they receive commands they don't understand.

Glad to hear that fixed your problem, and please let us know if you have more questions.

    Thanks,
