    I recently purchased Fetch 4.0.3. I have a G3 iMac, OS 9.0.2 and use a cable modem. I can't gain access to a bunch of my sites (all with the same webhost). The message is "Can't open data connection".

    I have the Passive Mode Transfers box in the Firewall section of Preferences checked, but it's still not connecting.

    Here's the transcript:

    Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x922 Serial FETCHFL001-7063-1201 WS
    Connecting to 207.150.192.12 port 21 (10/2/03 4:57:07 PM)

    PASV

    ftp_list: -30000 (state == GETTING_LIST)
    QUIT
    421 Timeout (500 seconds): closing control connection.

    Thank you so much for your help!

    It looks like the server has a firewall that prevents passive mode from working. What transcript do you get if you uncheck "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)"?

    Thanks,
