OK at first this was a challenge trying to get this Mac to connect to an FTP site, through a socks proxy (port 1080). I can connect directly to the socks server, i can connect to the ftp site, however, when I try to change to another folder, it halts and the dog keeps running. But if I change the directory manually while the dog is running it changes with no problems. It intermittently downloads selected files. The permissions on all of the files are owned by the user connecting to the FTP site.

Initially my problem was I couldn't connect at all through M$ Proxy Server 2.0 w/SP1. I installed ANALOGX and only using socks for this purpose. and I can get this far.
The way the server is now is MS W2K SP2 with MS Proxy 2.0

My settings that I can connect throught the server is :
NO CHECK on USE Internet Config.
FIREWALL TAB = Use PASV. socks 4.3 or 4 (works the same on both)
I am also authenticating the mac to the socks server directly.

I have noticed that alot of the entries in this forum direct someone to changing the FTP setting to PASV or NON PASV. Just FYI, I have tried every variation of PASV and NON PASV connections. I have had this issue with the MAC for several months now and I keep putting it off, and I am so close now, can anyone help me with this finale step ?

Thanks for the detailed report. I have had other reports of this problem, but I have not gotten to the bottom of what is happening.

I would be willing to dig further into this if you have the time to run special debugging versions of Fetch, and possibly software to capture the network traffic. If you are interested please email support@fetchsoftworks.com.

    Thanks,
