Mirror folder in real time (2 posts)

I was wondering if there was a way to mirror a folder and have fetch watch it for changes to automatically upload changed files.

I am editing html files locally and then have to switch over and upload them to staging to test the changes. It would be nice to have the folder mirrored in real time.

    Hi,

No, there's not a way to have Fetch watch a folder for changes and upload them in real time, sorry.

You could accomplish the same thing by using Fetch's Edit command to edit the HTML files directly on the server, which would allow you to see your changes right away without having to mirror the folder. Then once you were satisfied with the changes, you could use the Mirror command to mirror the folder from the server back to your local hard drive, so that you had a local copy of the latest changes.

See the Edit command topic in Fetch Help (or click the link here) for more information.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks,
