    Hi

Sorry, but I am a Mac noob, but have run into a problem concerning Fetch; and am not sure if the problem will be viewed as a Microsoft, Apple or Fetch issue.

Basically after applying some Windows to the firewall server updates Fetch can no longer connect to FTP sites. I have removed the patches and it seems to work.

We are running Tiger OS on an iMac, a G4 and a mac notebook; on a Windows 2003 domain with AD integrated users, and MS ISA2004 on W2003 as a firewall.

The MS patches are KB908519, KB912912 and KB905915.

I need to re-apply this security patches asap, otherwise MS tells me I am vulnerable.

We have the latest version of Fetch I think. When it fails to connect it says it needs more information from the proxy server.

    Any ideas please? Thanks

I would try turning the OS X firewall off on your Mac. Then re-install the patches one by one, trying to connect with Fetch 5.0.5 at least twice after each patch. If Fetch stops working at some point could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the transcript?

    Thanks,

    Hi Jim
Well - I managed to apply the MS patches singley (rather than all at once using my patching tool) testing Fetch after each patch - and now it all works OK!!
    Very strange.
    Thanks for your input though
