Greetings all, I assist in administrating our network. Prior to implementing Border Manager Proxy servers, I was able to create multipule shortcuts and store them. Now because we proxy everything, all the FTP fuctions are pointed to a single server, my problem is how do I re-create these shortcuts so they all have the unique log on information for their various sites but still point to the proxy server? Currently every time I create a new short cut Fetch will pull up the previous shortcut's information. Any ideas?
    Thanks for a great product!!

Can you connect to a server (through the proxy) and then choose "New Shortcut..." from the Customize menu? Does that shortcut work?

    Thanks,

Unfortunatly no that does not work, Border Manager is set to proxy all calls to the outside world, so if I try to make a connection to just the proxy server it returns an invalid log on error. It wants to see the log on in this manner.....Username$site address then the password before allowing connection.

I'm suggesting that you connect to the server you want a shortcut for (using the username$site trick you mention), then choose "New shortcut..." from the Customize menu to create a shortcut. You can edit and delete shortcuts by choosing "Fetch Shortcuts" from the Window menu and then "Edit Shortcut..." or "Remove Shortcut..." from the Customize menu. Or am I misunderstanding the problem?

    Hi Jim
I know that I must be doing something wrong and I am at a loss to know what it is. In order to make ANY connection to the outside world through Border Manager...I MUST have both the Internet Configuration control panel as well as the Fetch Firewall Preferences set in order to log onto the Proxy Server. If I uncheck the Use Internet Config box in Fetch and leave all the information as is..I cannot connect, if I check that box and do not fill in the information within Fetch..I can not connect. SO I must be doing something wrong. Hence the reason I have been unable to make more then one short cut work. Any other ideas?

So you have to enter information about a specific server in the proxy configuration areas of the Internet control panel and the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences? I'm interested in hearing more, but perhaps you'd rather continue this by email. Could you send (to support@fetchsoftworks.com) the details of how you configure the Internet control panel and Fetch to make a successful connection, along with the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you make that connection?

    Thanks,
