I used Fetch yesterday for the first time at a client's office to post pages to their site. When I checked the site, the old page still appeared, so I clicked Refresh, and the new page appeared. But shouldn't the new page appear automatically? Visitors to the site won't know to click refresh to see the updated page. Is there a solution to this problem?

This is a problem with the web browser, or possibly the web server. When you tell a web browser to show a page, and the web browser has a saved copy of the page in its cache, it is supposed to ask the server whether the page has changed since the copy was saved. If it fails to do this, or if the web server gives an incorrect answer, it can show a stale copy of the page, and it is necessary to use the Refresh button.

Hopefully visitors to the site will either not have a copy of the page cached, or will have web browsers that do the right thing.

If you see this problem frequently I would check with the web hosting company, and check the version of your browser.

    Thanks,
